Note: This is a general guide about basic Force powers and how to choose them during the character creation process and during character development. It is not an exhaustive list of allowed Force powers, but a good place to start.

In light of the fact that much of you are trying to get some pretty concerning force abilities applied to your character sheets, here is an in depth run down of what is considered acceptable and what is not.

As a jedi initiate, typically your character in this rank would have a greater emphasis on force abilities that fall under the category of Control. These are abilities that influence an individual. Such as running, jumping, heightened senses, moving objects, or soothing the emotions of others. Force Empathy, force sight, force leap, and speed are something we'd figure you'd have a handle on at this rank. The only lightsaber form you should have eventual mastery over at this rank is Form I; The basic lightsaber cadence that opens up the gateway for the other 6 forms. An Initiate learns the three pillars of the Jedi: The Force which teaches them of the Living aspects of it's existance, Knowledge which gives them an idea of how important the history of the Order is and where they can find sources of information, and self-discipline which is exemplified during their combat training.

As a Padawan learner, your master should be teaching you force abilities that fall under the Sense Catagory. force abilities such as Life Detection, Sense Force, and magnifying the senses. PostCognition and Projective Telepathy merge Sense and Alter together in order to allow Padawans to associate a telepathic link to others.

once you are a Jedi Knight, Force abilities that fall under the Alter Catagory are then studied. Here's where I'll go into what is acceptable and what is not.

Telekinesis is the most fundamental alter ability and your character should automatically have good practice with abilities such as force push, and force pull. Affect Mind, or "Mind Trick" is another Alter ability that can only effect individuals who are weak minded. Keep in mind that Dashade, Hutt, Toydarian, Yinchorri, B'rknaa, and Shi'ido species are immune to it's effects. Doppleganger is another Alter ability that is considered acceptable but is very hard to learn, and even harder to master. So be careful in your choices.

Forbidden Force Techniques for Jedi Include:

Force grip
Force Insanity
Deadly Sight
Morichro
and Emerald Lightning
Force Storm

Sith are incapable of using deadly sight and Force storm as well, unless authorized under guidance of the High Council.

Other abilities such as thought bomb and various others which are substantially powerful are to be discussed with us before consideration for approval. If any of these abilities mentioned are located in character sheets without prior consent, they will simply be declined.

I was worried I made my character to powerful for someone who had been only training for a few years. But this showed me I'm ok. Thanks!
