Alone, once again. She was standing in the middle of her room, in this darkness peculiar to winter times. She was facing the window, observing the snow that was falling in silence, covering the buildings and roads with its thick white coat as passersby were hurrying, wishing to be in the warmth of their homes, in front of their television. Alone in her comfortable bedroom, she was observing. She was looking at the life unfolding in front of her when she knew she was about to die.

Decennium 02: We don’t live in the same world…

    Such a long time. Such a long time since I had seen her. She must have been six or seven years old the last time it happened.
    Her name was Aleyna and it was a very fitting name. She was the sweetest angel, when she would look at me with her big blue eyes, so deep that I would lose myself in them. I still feel the contact from her soft skin, her so pale skin.

Here is Mona Mayfair, from the books Blackwood Farm and Blood Canticle by Anne Rice..
She is a witch made vampire by Lestat who saves her life this way..

There is no actual/official pictures of her, as she has only been described in the books. We can find a few fanart drawings here and there (a couple of them on dA), but to me nothing really appealling, and certainly nothing that shows her beauty and shine.. (You'll understand if you read the books..). So I was quite free to design her as I wanted to..
Nevertheless, I came across a picture here on dA and I just thought "She would be the closest representation of Mona I could think of".
The picture is not stock, but the rules with it say you can use it as reference for drawings. That was perfect for me, as I use lots of stock and non-stock as drawing reference..

Belt is actually one of my wife's.
Picture used as a starting point for the background is from the inside of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, taken by my wife.

I wanted to give her frizzy hair, as it is how I imagine this character.. But it didn't turn out as well as I wanted to, so I just gave her straight hair in the end.. It does the trick I think..

Photoshop CS2, Wacom Intuos2 tablet, about 15 hours of actual work.

Your drawing is really really great!

But i really hate the character mona mayfair. Fucking everything male she can get even her own cousin on a graveyard when she was nine .... if i´m remebering right from the witch trilogy. Even Rowan Mayfairs Husband Michael Curry wasn´t safe. Poor Rowan

Haha, that's true she has some kind of a sex problem, especially in the witch trilogy. Though she calms down when she grows older, and becomes sick, when she's included in the vampires chronicles.

I didn't think much of her in the Mayfair series since she was still a kid in it, but in those 2 last movies, she was much more interesting if we don't pay attention to the whining parts.. lol
